Introduction of Clinical Roles at the Practice
We are excited to introduce various Additional Roles Reimbursement Scheme (ARRS) roles aimed at enhancing our patient care. These roles include Advanced Nurse Practitioners (ANPs), Pharmacy Technicians, Social Prescribers, and Senior Pharmacists. Each role brings unique expertise to our practice, from providing advanced nursing care and medication management to supporting patients with non medical needs and ensuring safe and effective pharmaceutical services. These professionals play a crucial role in expanding our healthcare team and improving the quality of care we deliver. We look forward to sharing more about how these roles benefit our patients and contribute to our holistic approach to healthcare.
Social Prescribing Team
We're introducing a special team at our practice called the Social Prescribing Team. Their job is to help improve your health, wellbeing, and social welfare by connecting you to community services. These services are often run by the council or local charities. For example, they might direct people diagnosed with dementia to local support groups specifically for dementia.
Our team will work closely with you to find activities and services that can help you feel your best. Social prescribing is for everyone and works well for people with long-term conditions, those needing support for mental health issues, people feeling lonely or isolated, and those with complex social needs affecting their wellbeing. Whether it's joining clubs, trying new hobbies, or finding ways to stay active, our team is here to support your health and happiness.
Introducing Our Physiotherapists
Physiotherapy at our practice is provided by specially trained and regulated practitioners known as physiotherapists. They often work as part of a multidisciplinary team in various medical settings, including hospitals, community health centres, and some GP surgeries. Some physiotherapists may also work with sports teams, clubs, charities, and even offer home visits.
Physiotherapists take a holistic approach, considering the body as a whole rather than focusing solely on specific injuries or illnesses. They provide education and advice on everyday factors that can affect your health, such as posture and proper lifting techniques to prevent injuries. Tailored exercises and physical activity advice are recommended to improve overall health, mobility, and strengthen specific areas of the body. Additionally, physiotherapists use manual therapy techniques to alleviate pain, reduce stiffness, and promote better movement.
