Privacy Policy for this Web-Site:
Weeping Cross Health Centre takes great care to safeguard personal data provided by it's patients and processes such data fairly and lawfully in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998.
Weeping Cross Health Centre does not capture and store any personal information about individuals who access this web site, except where you voluntarily choose to give us your personal details via email or an on-line form.
In these latter cases, the personal information you give us is used exclusively by Weeping Cross Health Centre for providing you with current and future information about our services or as part of one of our on-line services e.g. Repeat Prescription Requests.
We do not pass any of your personal information to outside organisations and/or individuals, except with your express consent.
Use of Cookies : A cookie is a small piece of information sent from a web-site to your computer where it is stored on your hard drive. Most web-sites send cookies of some description. When you complete an on-line repeat prescription request, this web-site stores a cookie containing your personal details (Patient No, Date of Birth and part of your Surname). This is stored to save you having to complete the entire form every time you request a repeat prescription on-line. Most browsers will allow you to disable cookies; you will still be able to move around the site as normal if you do decide to disable cookies.
On-Line Repeat Prescriptions : The Internet is not a secure medium. However, we have used a number of security measures to help ensure the data you enter into our on-line Repeat Prescription service is as safe as possible. For example, we do not store your personal details (e.g. Names, Address, Telephone Number etc) on our web-site which makes it difficult for a third party to identify you. In addition, we use an SSL link so that the data you enter is encrypted while over the communications link. If the data you enter was altered in some way by a third party, our internal controls would identify this before a prescription is generated. These measures ensure the service is more secure than sending 'free text' emails. However, we do not guarantee this service and it is used entirely at your own risk. If you do not wish to use it, please utilise one of the other methods found on our Repeat Prescriptions page.
Change of Address: The Internet is not a secure medium. While your change of address will be processed in strict confidence within our practice, we cannot guarantee its security over the Internet. However, we have taken a number of steps to help ensure the data you send to us is secure: (1) We only request part of your surname and your date of birth to identify you. (2) We use an SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) link so that the data you enter is encrypted when sent over the communications link. (3) As soon as we receive your change of address we delete it from our online server, so your data only remains on the Internet for a short period of time. These measures ensure the service is more secure than sending 'free text' emails. However, we do not guarantee this service and it is used entirely at your own risk. You are in no obligation to use the service. If you do not wish to use it, please notify us of a change of address by telephone, fax or post.
Patient Questionnaire: The Internet is not a secure medium. While your questionnaire will be processed in strict confidence within our practice, we cannot guarantee its security over the Internet. However, we have taken a number of steps to help ensure the data you send to us is secure: (1) We only request your patient number or part of your firstname, part of your surname and your date of birth to identify you. (2) We use an SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) link so that the data you enter is encrypted when sent over the communications link. (3) As soon as we receive your questionnaire we delete it from our online server, so your data only remains on the Internet for a short period of time. These measures ensure the service is more secure than sending 'free text' emails. However, we do not guarantee this service in any way. You are in no obligation to use the service. If you do not wish to use it, please use request a paper copy of our questionnaire by telephone, fax or post.
