Emergencies
Life Threatening Emergencies:
In a life-threatening emergency such as sudden severe chest pain, severe breathlessness, loss of power in a limb, loss of consciousness or severe bleeding dial 999.
Injuries:
The health centre is equipped to treat minor injuries like small cuts and joint sprains. If the injury is more severe or may involve a broken bone then you should attend the local minor injuries unit at Stafford General Hospital A+E Dept.
Also in the event of poisoning or overdose the attend the local A+E
Urgent Problems during Surgery Hours:
We will always see urgent cases the same day. However, it may not always be possible for this to be with the doctor of your choice or at the time of your choice.
Whilst we reserve a very limited number of emergency appointments in the evening, you are respectively asked to consider whether it is a true emergency or a problem that could be dealt with the next day. The abuse of these appointments could result in patients who really do need to be seen urgently being delayed.
Urgent Problems outside Surgery Hours:
If you have an urgent medical problem when the surgery is closed on weekdays or at the weekend which cannot wait until the surgery is open please telephone 0300 130 3030.
The 'Out of Hours' service is provided by Badger Harmoni.
